Thames Valley LDWA

We have decided to proceed with this event as planned in Lane End Village Hall unless government guidelines change to prevent this.

The walk will be preceded by A and B Social Walks. Note the A walk will start at 8.30am. See Thames Valley LDWA - Programme

After the walk, Shahina is kindly contributing a daal curry to warm us up. There will be a savoury alternative for non-curry eaters, plus hot drinks.

The meeting will start no earlier than 2.30pm. The agenda is here  AGM_2022_Agenda.pdf (ldwa.org.uk) . You are also invited beforehand to read last years minutes AGM_2021_Minutes.pdf (ldwa.org.uk) and the annual report for 2021 of the committee  Thames Valley committee report

The agenda will include a review of the results of the recent members survey, which will hopefully lead to a constructive group discussion. The main issue this is raising, based on the 87 responses in the first week, is a wide spread in walking pace, current being dealt with effectively it seems by a split into A and B walks (25% found A walks too fast but only 4% found B walks too fast) , but is then requiring an unrealistic number of leaders. If you cannot attend the AGM, and even if you can , you can still contribute your views at

As for the Xmas Party, you are asked to have a Lateral Flow Test before attending and the policy of the hall itself is that masks should be worn when possible. Chairs will be spaced out for the meeting itself and hand gel supplied.

To give us an idea of numbers to cater for, please reply to this email if you plan to attend with YES in the title or text of your reply .

We are currently recruiting volunteers for the Oxon 40/20 which will take place on 30th April 2022.  If you would like to volunteer please contact Huw Davies or Gill Scott at tv.oxon4020@ldwa.org.uk  for more information, Please could the 4 respondents to the members survey who volunteered in the survey itself but didn't give their names contact this email. .
