Start in the lay-by by the Tafarn-y-Garreg pub. Limited parking, so please car share if possible., SN849171. Please check South Wales website before you travel for any last minute changes. (It is advisable to arrive 10 minutes before the meet/start time)
A somewhat epic loop of the Black Mountain. Generally fairly good walking, with short sections of bog or tussock in places. Out to Brynamman, up to Pen y Clogau and back roughly along the Beacons Way. Graded as Very Strenuous with 5,500 feet of ascent
General Notes
This is exposed and the second half is wild and remote. Bring appropriate mountain walking kit, can be surprisingly chilly even in early May. Boots/ gaiters if you want dry feet!
