Dane Valley Ramble

Four (Ann, Peter, David & Michael) from South Manchester LDWA commenced the walk from Clough House Car Park along Cumberland Brook to Dane Bower. We  joined the Dane Valley way for a short distance before leaving it to head for Flash. Then walking west we re-joined the Dane Valley way to Danebridge enjoying a lunch stop near Hangingstone Farm including a dance demonstration from Ann! At Winkle we marveled at the Traction Engine display before a steady climb to Hammerton Knowl and onto Greenway bridge. We returned with good views of Shutlingsloe through Wildboarclough. A distance of 16 miles in good walking conditions.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
