October 2023 Update

Welcome to the Autumn and ultimately one of our favourite walking seasons.

Good news for walk leaders. There is now money provided for N&S LDWA walk leaders to recce social walks. This is intended as a contribution as opposed to full reimbursement, and recognises the time and cost (in particular travel cost) that a leader may have when developing social walks for N&S LDWA.

** This is a new initiative effective from 1st August 2023 and may be revised on an ongoing basis to ensure it remains fair and applicable for all members.**

For full details and rules please refer to the website Norfolk & Suffolk LDWA - Social Walk Guidelines & Forms

You may recall in the last newsletter I had advised I would lead The Wool Towns Walk over a couple of days in autumn. In hindsight having completed the reccee for section one I have realised it is probably a bit ambitious for this time of year when the days are getting shorter. I have therefore decided to just lead the 16 mile section from Sudbury to Hadleigh in October with the intention of putting the whole walk on in the spring.

Finally this year’s Christmas walk and lunch will be on the 2nd December at The White Horse Inn, Norwich Rd, Stoke Ash - Full details to follow
