April 2024 Update
Happy Easter - A time to eat plenty of chocolate and then look for walks to burn it off!
April is always a busy time for challenge events. Although we are not holding the Daffodil Dawdle this year (Replaced in July with the Rodent Wriggle) locally there is ‘The Capital Challenge’ next weekend. Further afield ‘The Three Shires and ‘The Woldsman’ that I am aware some of our members will be attending. Don’t forget the Essex Walker is on the 14th April. Entries close 7th April…
We also have a few social walks in the upcoming schedule however always keep an eye out for pop up walks that appear last minute.
Recently I sent out details of the Group weekend away to primary members. Please note that to respond, emails should come to my private email janeaudsley@msn.com . Unfortunately some responses went astray as the reply to group emails does not work.
Date for the diary- The AGM this year is to be held on Sunday 12th May at Hoxne Village Hall. In line with previous years there will be a short 12 mile circular walk in the morning lead by Yvonne and Roger. The actual meeting will start at 1:30. It would be great to see as many of you as possible. Further details on the website.

Group Walk - 19ml. 9.00 Large free c.p at 2 Church Plain, Loddon, Norwich, NR14 6LX. (GR TM362987). Loddon then along the Rivers Chet & Yare as far as Langley Dike, then through Carleton St Peter, Ashby St Mary, Mundham Common & Sisland. C: Crumpron Clarke

Group Walk - 18ml. 9:00 Cemetery Lane c.p, Wymondham, NR18 0JX. (GR TG112010). From Cemetery Lane c.p we head out to do a loop around The Lizard & head back towards Wymondham along Strayground Lane to cross first the mainline railway & then the Mid Norfolk railway. A break will be taken at Wymondham Abbey. Return along the River Tiffey & Mid Suffolk railway. C:Jon Inett

Guilty or Not Guilty, Dobbin Stands Accused!
Group Walk - 22ml. 9:00 Free c.p adjacent Hadleigh Swimming Pool opposite The Cock Inn, George Street. Post code : IP7 5BP. (GR TM030427). We strike south from Hadleigh to Withermarsh Green, then over the Stour to Langham Curch. The return crosses Fen Bridge & passes through the venue that gives the walk its title. C: Ray Orman

Group Walk - 18ml. 9:30 Starting at the free parking off the horse roundabout, entry to the July course, Newmarket. Postcode: CB8 0TQ. (GR TL618614). We head east on the Devils Dyke & then pass through Wooditton, the Icknield Way & Upend to arrive at our lunch break at the Lidgate Star (the publican is a LDWA member)

Group Walk - 18ml. 9:00 George Street c.p, George Street, Brandon, IP27 0BX. Car park has no charge.. (GR TL785865). From George Street car park we head out to do a loop around Santon Downham, heading back towards Brandon along Hereward Way / St Edmunds Way. We then head towards Weeting picking up a track past Belvedere Wood into Hockwold-cum-Wilton. Return along Hereward Way. C:Jon Inett
