Black Death Walk August 2023

A walk around some of the key Lincolnshire villages that suffered so tragically during the Black Death in the 14th Century. In total approximately 45% of the Lincolnshire population died as a result of this pandemic. Seeing the burial mounds at each of the villages demonstrated the tragic effect this plague had upon the County and its residents of the time.

Unfortunately not many of the Group ventured out on the 24 mile walk but those that did thoroughly enjoyed the walk, which in the main was carried out in fair weather with just short showers interupting the otherwise lovely sunshine.

Many thanks to Kevin for leading the walk and to Lorna for taking the photos.
