Spring in Lakeland 2024

Spring in Lakeland took place on Sunday 14 April 2024 and the results are available here.  Plans for 2025 will be announced soon so keep checking this page, or SiEntries where we will launch our event.

Many thanks to Peter Salenieks for sending us some beautiful images as he set off early walking and captured pictures of the landscape and many of the entrants on their way round.  They are all here for you to enjoy. Landscapes first, then novelty photos of odd quirky bits and bobs that Peter spotted along the way, and towards the end if you scroll away you might just find photos of yourselves amongst the entrants' photos.

Regrettably we can't allow dogs on this event, as it is peak lambing time in the Lakes.

Please remember to bring a mug as we are working hard to reduce single use of plastic.  Also remember you will be going up to 400 metres when you cross the pass before Coniston.  On a wet or windy day it can be very cold in April so remember those spare layers and gloves and hats.

There is strictly no parking at Ambleside Church or in the Parish Centre grounds.  Free parking in ambleside is very limited, so we suggest you share transport where possible.  The closest car park to the Parish Centre is at Miller Bridge, LA22 0EE.  If parking at Miller Bridge, then to get to the Parish Centre you can follow the big yellow 'Town Centre and Toilets' sign.

Registration will be open from 7am, with a mass start at 8am.  There will be toilet facilities at the Parish Centre and you can leave spare clothes in the hall, but please do not leave any valuables as we can take no responsibility for belongings left - we are unable to monitor them throughout.

We won't be providing refreshments before the start as we don't have access to the kitchen until later on.  Hot drinks and food will be available after you finish.  There will be cold drinks and snacks at Elterwater, and Hot/Cold drinks and sandwiches and snacks at Coniston and Skelwith checkpoints.  There will be gluten free and vegan/vegetarian options at all checkpoints so do ask the marshals for help if you can't find what you need.

This year we will be issuing certificates by email for saving or printing at home, as this saves on administration on the day and keeps costs down.  A link to download your certificate will be sent out in the week after the event.
