Spring in Lakeland 2022

We are delighted to announce that our popular Spring in Lakeland 24 Mile Challenge based in Ambleside will once again take place in 2022.   The date for the event is fixed now for SUNDAY 10 APRIL 2022 and entries will open Monday 8 November for LDWA and Ambleside AC members, then 1 December for non members assuming places are available. .  Here is the link for you to enter via SiEntries.

Please note this event is completely separate to the 50 Mile Spring in Lakeland Anytime Challenge which is currently available as a qualifier for the 2022 Trans Pennine Hundred.  If you are looking to enter that click here.

The route will be similar to last year, heading over to Coniston via Loughrigg, Elterwater and the Coniston Fells, and then using the Cumbria Way via Tarn Hows and Skelwith to get back to Ambleside.

We are very grateful to the Fell and Rock Climbing Club of the English Lake District for taking the lead organising this event last year for us under the name April in Ambleside, whilst we focused on our 50 mile (never quite happened) event and we will be continuing to work with this team in 2022 and beyond to secure the future of this lovely event.   And we especially welcome their members alongside the LDWA members to take part in this event.  (A few members have a deferred entry from last year and we will be in touch to ensure your place is secure too.)

We may still have some covid aware rules such as staggered starts and limited food but we will relax the rules as much as the current conditions allow at the time, and we will keep you informed as we get nearer to the date.  Either way, it is going to be a great day out so save the date.  Click here to download the GPX file if you want to practice ahead of the event.
