Walking the Boundaries

From Essex and Herts member Gavin Adlington:  I am churchwarden at St Michaels Church, Galleywood and on 1st October we are celebrating our 150th anniversary since the church was dedicated. The Bishop of Chelmsford will be attending the service and dedicating a large cross that is being put up as part of the celebration. I have relocated the official church parish boundary, which includes a number of the original boundary markers from 1874. We plan to walk the boundary on Saturday 30th September and I thought the LDWA members might find it interesting. I have done the complete walk 3 times, plus a number of other bits of it while I searched for the boundary stones! We have a map and booklet produced. (Walking the Boundaries booklet).  . I will be leading the walk. Plan tor start at 9.30. Lunch at the Ship pub in Stock and set off again at 1 PM. The church will be open throughout and providing tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes.
