Keith Noble 50K Memorial Walk

The Keith Noble Memorial 50K

The outline of this social walk was initially planned for 2020 but that was not to be. Now in 2022, with a few tweaks here and there, a memorial to Keith Noble and a celebration of the LDWA 50th year can be combined.

The walk will take place on Sunday 28th August from Hartham Common car park (free on Sundays) and will be based on the Hertfordshire Way Legs 10 Hertford to Cuffley,10A Cuffley to Broxbourne and 10B Broxbourne to Hertford. The full “official” Leg 10s combine to be about 37 miles but for our purpose this will be reduced to 31 (50K).

For anyone wishing to do part of the route there are rail links between Hertford North station and Cuffley and also Hertford East station and Broxbourne and other stations on the route.

The service runs every half hour.

Approximate timings are as follows, and any updates will be added here and in our email reminders:

Start                08:00

Cuffley            13:00

Broxbourne     16:30

Finish              20:30

Keith Noble

Keith Noble, who sadly passed away in January 2019, was a great supporter of Essex and Herts and a former Secretary/Treasurer of the group.   Over the years Keith led many social walks, took part in challenge events and 100s across the country and organised the Herts Hobble for 11 years, creating different routes with meticulous route descriptions each time.  Our Keith Noble memorial walk will take place in an area where Keith, who lived in Goffs Oak,  would have spent many happy hours walking.
