Irlam Heritage Walk
Wed 30th Nov 2022
Walk Details:
Trains, steel, soap and margarine! From Irlam Leisure centre car park we go through Prince's park following the old bed of the river Irwell. Returning on the opposite side we thread through to Irlam Linear park arriving at Irlam train station for a morning Coffee and Toilet stop. Here you can see the information boards full of Irlam's rich industrial history. Then we continue in the opposite direction to New moss wood, with a lunch stop at some point. After this we pick up the Glazebrook trail back through Little Woolden Moss Nature Reserve, over Liverpool road and finishing back at Irlam Leisure centre where toilets are available and a cafe is open for anyone wishing to call in before they're journey home. It is a flat walk along good paths, some through woodland and parks, though they are uneven in places and could well be muddy in November
