Dorset LDWA Group Activities

The Dorset LDWA Group is one of 44 local groups within the UK LDWA.

The Dorset Group runs one or two social walks each month, typically on a Sunday and between 15 and 25 miles in length. You can find out about what happens on a Social Walk by going to the About Social Walks page) in the Group menu. Non-members are very welcome to come along and try one of the walks.

There are also shorter informal walks on a Wednesday. Details are advised to members by email beforehand. If you are a Dorset Group member and do not receive notifications of these events, ask the Group Secretary to be put on the mailing list.

The Dorset Group organises two challenge walks a year:

• One in the spring: in 2019 this will be the Dorset Giant.
• On the Sunday before the August Bank Holiday - the Dorset Doddle

In 2018, the Group ran the Dorset Doddle in August and the Doddle West in October (postponed from the spring).

The group also organises barbecues, weekend bunkhouse/hostel trips, and shared transport for participation in challenges put on by other LDWA groups.

We have an Annual General Meeting usually in November.
