You may have seen from the minutes of the last Dorset LDWA Committee meeting that I intend to stand down from the position of Walks Secretary at the next AGM. Provided there are sufficient committee members I will also stand down from the committee. I will have served 5 very enjoyable years on the committee, and 4 years as Walks Secretary where I have been privileged to have the support of some wonderful walk leaders. Whilst I have really enjoyed being part of the team, and getting to know so many of you whilst helping the group to thrive, I really believe that an association like ours is healthier if there is a steady turn-over of committee members and new people to bring fresh ideas. I still intend to be an active member of the group and will continue to lead walks and help with events.
Please consider if you could take a turn on the committee; it is very rewarding and not too onerous. You are welcome to join us at the next meeting (currently held on Zoom / Teams) to see what it's like, or ask any member of the committee if you are interested. Full training for the role of Walks Secretary will be given and there is nothing difficult, provided you have basic computer skills.
Please get in touch or have a chat on a walk if you are interested.
