Our group turned 40 in 2020, however due to restrictions in place we were unable to formally celebrate.

So instead we had our celebrations in July 2022 - A little late, but with no less enthusiasm.

Here are a few pictures from the day and comments from some of the 50+ people who came along, either for the walks, the celebrations or both.

Thank you very much for a lovely afternoon. It was great fun, very relaxed, and such a friendly, happy atmosphere. You cooked a fabulous meal for us all, and we were all well attended to with cakes and flapjacks. 

You and your team put a great deal of work into the event, and it was Really Appreciated.

Thank you, especially, & Steve, & Ali & Kieran, & Hazel & Terry for such a lovely celebration on Sunday.  You must have worked incredibly hard to pull it off &, to my mind, it was just right.  Very relaxed, very informal, but memorable & intimate & thoroughly enjoyable, even for an uptight, stuffed shirt, party ‘avoider’ like me!!

The day flowed brilliantly.  Tim didn’t beast us, but we felt that we had enjoyed a very good walk, & an appetite to set about your food & drink akin to a plague of locusts.

The location was ideal. 

Be in no doubt that your efforts were a splendid success.  Thank you.

I’d like to thank you and your great team for the warm welcome, the card and gifts and for looking after  me on the Cornwall and Devon celebration weekend.  I thoroughly enjoyed it and was pleased to have managed to make the event after the ups and downs of the previous two years.

I hope someone is going to provide a write up and photos to Strider!

So many thanks for inviting Mike and me to your 40th Anniversary do. We felt very touched and honoured by the invite.

It was a very good day: thank you to all involved in what must have been a lot of planning. We would be glad if you could pass our particular thanks again to Kim the walk leader, and Ian , who as back marker spent a lot of time with me!!

Thank you Paula and Ali, Rose for the cake, and all other helpers, for the delicious meal afterwards, and a chance to chat to lots of people. We thought Terry's exhibition of your group's events and achievements was excellent. What a lot you have done over the years.

It was good to spend a few day  away in lovely Devon, too, on a quirky camp site!

Further to my words of thanks to you both this afternoon, I really feel I should stress how very much your work was appreciated. 

Given all the time and attention in planning and preparing I know it seems that the day itself goes all too quickly!
