Guisborough Wander

 A Guisborough Wander - Saturday 31st August

Attendance - 17

Weather - Warm, one short shower & breezy.

A surprisingly good attendance for a venue often used by our Group when we were organising The Hanging Stone Leap.  The weather was kind considering the BBC suggested a couple of days prior it might rain all day, we only had a little around mid day although it was a bit breezy. The route, a loop around Guisborough woods on lesser known paths, and a surprise visit to a waterfall, with a seat next to it, well hidden within the woods, then onto our first break  at the foot of Highcliff Nab where we watched a couple of climbers ascending the Nab, and enjoyed the view over Guisborough and onto the coast.

Then on the  Cleveland way to Charltons, Stanghow ridge road with another break in the woods for lunch prior to Lingdale.  We skirted Boosbeck and picked up Cleveland way at Skelton Green avoided Slapewath, passed Waterfall farm and picked up Cleveland Street back to Guisborough.

18 miles approx. (2300ft ascent)
