Calderdale is in the west of West Yorkshire in the South Pennines. It's a beautiful area with a great mixture of rural, village and town, based around the Calder valley either side of which are spectacular hills with many lanes and footpaths to and across farm and moorland with amazing views. Out of the valley it's a short distance to other attractive areas - for example the Colne and Holme valleys to the South, West up the hills towards Lancashire with Haworth and its moors to the North.

Calderdale LDWA group organises regular walks within Calderdale and beyond. These are listed on the future events tab above. Walks are of 20 miles or so at a moderate pace, dogs are welcome, and a packed lunch and drinks is usually required. The walk leader will make sure no-one is left behind.  Please see the list of walks for any specific needs for the particular walk.

All LDWA members are welcome on our group walks and so are guests who are yet to join the LDWA. If a guest, it's suggested you make contact with the walk leader in advance to make sure of the requirements, and the expectation is that the walker should join the LDWA after a trial three guest appearances on group walks.

LDWA members may choose to have Calderdale as their chosen group.

We hold periodic meetings in a local pub, details shown under Future Events and as advised by email to Calderdale group members.

The next Calderdale LDWA meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 8th November 2023 at 7pm at the Drop Inn, Elland. Post Code HX5 9DU
