Celebrating BBN's 30th - 30k in Bucks - Ldr: Dave Yorston - 27th July 2013

A hot sunny day. Dave's super 30K celebratory route included bits from the Wendover Gap, Pick & Mix, Chiltern Landmarks Hundred and of course the BBN kissing gate.

Coombe Hill - fantastic views all round - on an ultra-clear day Dave says you can see Broadway Tower (Cotswolds) from here. It was so lovely - a quick drinks stop turned into a longer break.  Down into Wendover - a very leisurely progress through the town - cheese tasting - ice creams - a beautiful day and we're all happy - who cares how long the walk takes.

Kathy joined us here – arriving by train - just in time for the steepest climb of the day up thru Wendover Woods.  One of those strange chances that sometimes happen - we bumped into John and Judy (exactly where we had started the Brewery Walk two month or so back).

Lunch stop - seeking shade in Wendover Woods - Norm's Union Jack mat - Lynn replenishing water bottles - more ice creams.  Stones marking the highest point in Bucks/the Chilterns.   HS2 protest.

The old white church at The Lee. Taking on more water at the back of the new church as guests arrived at the front for a grand wedding.  He's the Groom - Guard of Honour - we thought Royal Military Police? We saw the Bride arrive.

Afternoon break at The Lee - Lynn with more water – Puddingstone  - Good Luck to Kate and William - Baby George is 5 days old.

A bottle of bubbly from Martin L for Dee to celebrate another Hundred.

Back to Dave and Lynn's garden for tea and food. Just lovely, thank you Lynn and Sandra. And to finish the day, a walk round the corner to Malt the Brewery. What more could you ask for!

I enjoyed this walk so much - lovely countryside - great views – without too much climbing.  And we beat the rain. A great day out, thank you Dave.

13 walkers – plus Kathy, and Lynn met up with us twice. Sandra joined us after work.
