Santa from Sandy - Sunday 9th December 2012

28 on the walk, starting from Sandy, which is twinned with Malaunay. Loads of nattering and lots to see.  We covered Joss Naylor, Ann Summers, Winston Churchill (Bessie Braddock: “Sir, you are drunk.” Churchill: “Madam, you are ugly. In the morning, I shall be sober.”), pooh sticks (anyone fancy leading a social walk to include a pooh sticks competition?), a Bailey Bridge, The Ringers Way (can't find anything about this), Dee in a ditch, Riddy Nature ReserveLesser Burdock burrs, saw where Pearl and Steve got married, something about Swingers in Tempsford, meat & 2 vege (still don't understand that), The Kingfisher Way.  We stopped at The Royal Oak, Roxton, beer - Charles Wells Winter Warmer and Eagle.  We sang carols, handed out sweeties and had mulled wine (the dictionary just says it's heating with spices) and mince pies (the iced version were the least popular) and dipped into Santa's sack for a pressie. Next year we need some music, so keep a look out for tambourines, triangles, drums, etc.  So sorry your camera got broken Ria, thanks for saving the pictures.

p.s. Pearl and Steve got married at The Anchor Lodge Hotel, Tempsford.  It's now a Swingers (partner swapping) club and hotel called The Vanilla Alternative.  Thanks to Tim Berners-Lee, I now know what the slang term meat and two vege means.
