An absolute gem of a linear route offering more diversity per mile than your average circular, visiting and standing upon the mound in Fotheringhay where Mary Queen of Scots was beheaded, the highly attractive village of Elton, Chesterton, Alwalton and Castor, with its French style chateau (a summer residence for the Bishop of Peterborough), all amidst the Nene Valley, utilising the Nene Way and trailing into Peterborough, via the River Nene, to finish amidst the magnificence of its cathedral

General Notes
A better day out than this is hard to find! The bus back to Warmington is approximately every hour, takes 45 minutes and in April 2021 cost GBP5.00
