Baggage Handling

As usual baggage will be transported to the breakfast point at Longtown, (see the rules regarding baggage) and transported back to Walk HQ at Chepstow after entrants have passed through the Longtown checkpoint.

Transfer of baggage back to Chepstow is unlikely to start before approximately 0600, at the earliest, on Sunday morning due to waiting until the amount of baggage in the van makes the journey worthwhile (and the Baggage Team requiring sleep of course); it may be even later as this takes about an hour each way plus unloading time.

For those unfortunate to retire from the event before Longtown, this means that they may have to wait some time for their baggage to be returned to Chepstow. In that case we advise that they get a good night's sleep at Walk HQ and wait for their baggage to be returned. Please do not go home without your baggage as we cannot undertake to arrange for it to be returned to your home. Alternatives are:

  • to drive to Longtown to collect it yourself but beware of passing it en route!
  • arrange for a friend or relative to collect it
